The Bug Platform — an open source hardware project developed by the New York City based company buglabs — is working on the their next generation Bug 2.0 which includes bleeding edge hardware based on the TI OMAP3 platform.

If you follow the Embedded-Linux-Systems market in any way, you will know that there’s a special kind of Linux distribution out, which is especially developed for those tiny embedded systems: Android by Google. Since buglabs was very interested to see Android running on their Bug 2.0, guess which company popped into their minds when they thought about bleeding edge software running on bleeding edge hardware? … Yes, you are right!

We are very proud to announce that Android (Frozen Yoghurt) is now running on the Bug 2.0 hardware and it world premiered at the Verizon Developer Conference 2010! Expect some more information and porting documentation which will appear on the official buglabs community site.

So, thanks everyone involved! You know who you are!
